In 2004, the IASIT engaged in the following public activities:

• Global Infection Control and Injection Safety Meeting (October 20 - 22, 2004; Cape Town)

  The IASIT made a formal presentation to the SIGN Meeting about "Ensuring the Supply of Safe Injection Technology". Moreover, an IASIT Satellite Event , consisting of an Informal Buffet Dinner and a Safe Injection Technology Exhibition, was successfully held in the evening of October 21 to which all SIGN members were invited.

  The following IASIT members attended the SIGN 2004 meeting:

  Adsyringe/Formers, B Braun, Becton Dickinson, Destroject, Emunio, Hindustan (HMD), Medeco-Abi Dhabi, Retractable Technologies (RTI), Star Syringe, Terumo, Tyco Healthcare and Unitract

• XV International AIDS Conference (July 11 - 16, 2004; Bangkok)

  The IASIT and participating members sponsored an exhibition stand during the XV AIDS Conference in Bangkok. The IASIT Exhibition featured an ongoing IASIT presentation as well as a display and continuing demonstration of the available safe injection technology of participating IASIT members.
